They both wore black long sleeved gowns that left little to the imagination. And both Anne Hathaway and Miley Cyrus had the punkiest hairdos of the evening at Monday night’s Met Ball devoted to the New York museum’s Costume Institute exhibition Punk: Chaos to Couture.
Both ladies already had short choppy layered crop tops — a chic look right now, and one worn by a number of celebs: Charlize Theron, Ginnifer Goodwin and Michelle Williams, included. But at the Met Ball, Hathaway showed up in a revealing archival black lace Valentino with mega side-boobage and newly white-blond hair. Did she bleach her hair for the evening, or for a movie, or because she’s bored? Regardless of the reason, it didn’t look good. What’s your opinion? We love her short hair, but not in white — it doesn’t suit her skintone and giant brown doe eyes. Why fix it if it ain’t broke, we ask . . .
Miley Cyrus cropped off her long sandy hair last year with hair stylist Chris McMillan even shaving one side of it off, and dying it white blonde. Since then, Miley’s really changed up her sweetheart look, and she went punk long before the Met Ball. But with her long Marc Jacobs mesh dress Monday night she producted up her hair with gel to look like she was walking down the Kings Road in London in 1977, which would be bad enough. But combining it with bright red lips? That is more anachronism than we can begin to comprehend.
Tell us — whose bad punk hair was, uh, less bad?
