Fringe — it’s everywhere! From the cocktail dresses at Monique Lhuillier to the gowns at Pamella Roland to the all-leather fringe skirts at Michael Kors (worn with popcorn knit sweaters — these skirts will be the piece for fall), swingy fringe is making a huge comeback.

Of course, the trend never really goes away for long. Gucci has new fringed bags out this spring, and it’s been edging its way back into the mainstream for a number of seasons now.
Semi-sheer chiffon over-the-knee ruffled peasant dresses: Yves Saint Laurent‘s influence is never far away — nor is that of Tom Ford, for that matter, who reinvented the YSL poufy poet-puffed sleeve and gathered-neck dress when he had the reins as YSL’s creative director in the ’90s. On Wednesday, Michael Kors showed beautiful delicate print chiffon peasant dresses — some for day, some for night — with poet sleeves cuffed at the wrist, tight waists, and soft ruffled or tiered flared bottom halves. They’re only a few thousand dollars different at retail — and honestly, they didn’t even look that different.
