Michael Stuhlbarg has joined Jessica Chastain in Miss Sloane, the gun control drama being made by Film Nation and EuropaCorp.
John Madden is directing the project, which also has Alison Pill in the cast.
The script, by Jonathan Perera, tells of a political fixer with an abused and abusive past who takes on Washington’s well-oiled gun lobby to pass gun legislation.
Stuhlbarg will play a foul-mouthed Irishman who wields considerable influence.
Ben Browning will produce for FilmNation and Patrick Chu will be the executive producer.
Stuhlbarg is currently onscreen portraying Apple engineer Andy Hertzfeld in the Oscar-nominated Steve Jobs and as classic film actor Edward G. Robinson in Trumbo opposite Bryan Cranston.
His next big-screen stop will be in Story of Your Life, the new film from Sicario director Denis Villeneuve.
Stuhlbarg is repped by ICM Partners, Viking Entertainment and Hansen Jacobson.
