The Joshua Caras, Olivia Luccardi and Paul Cooper-starring dark comedy Paint by director Michael Walker has been picked up for the U.S. market by Gravitas Ventures.
A Dec. 15 domestic video on-demand release is planned. The indie about three art-school grads, played by Caras, Luccardi and Cooper, as they struggle to sell their first paintings, has also seen Artist View Entertainment pick up the foreign rights.
Paint also stars Paul Cooper (Westworld) in his feature film debut, Amy Hargreaves, François Arnaud, Daniel Bellomy and Comfort Clinton. Austin Pendleton and David Patrick Kelly round out the ensemble cast.
Paint premiered at the 2020 Dances with Films Festival, usually headquartered at the iconic Chinese Theatres in Hollywood, but held virtually for the first time this year amid the Coronavirus pandemic, and where it won the Grand Jury prize.
Paint is produced by Alfred Theodore Sapse and executive produced by John Wollman.
