In response to Mila Kunis‘ recent revelation that she has a monthly, reoccurring donation to Planned Parenthood set up in Mike Pence’s name, several of the VP’s supporters have stated on social media that they would not only be boycotting Jim Beam, the spirit for which the 34-year-old is a spokesperson, but that they would also be making donations to pro-life organizations in Kunis‘ name.
The Bad Moms Christmas actress, who opened up about her donations during an episode of Conan last week, seemed to anticipate the backlash. Before she spoke to Conan O’Brien about the scheme, she issued this disclaimer: “This is when a lot of hate mail comes my way. I apologize if I’m offending anybody.”
, I don’t see you going too far,” said the legendary Harlem-based designer during a panel at Fashionista Con.”]
She explained that the donation was not a “prank” so much as a “peaceful protest” to express her disagreement with Pence’s pro-life platform. “I disagreed with some of the stuff that Pence was doing and was trying to do, and so as a reminder that there are women out there in the world who may or may not agree with his platform, I put him on a list of reoccurring donations that are made in his name to Planned Parenthood,” she said.
“Every month to his office, he gets a little letter that says an anonymous donation has been made in your name,” she continued. “I strongly disagree, and this is my little way of showing that. It’s a peaceful protest.”
The hashtag #BoycottBeam picked up steam over the weekend, with several conservative Twitter users writing that Kunis‘ actions have them looking elsewhere for their bourbon fix.

In addition to those who stated they would donate to pro-life organizations, the NRA was dragged into the conversation as well, with some users writing that they would donate to the organization in Kunis‘ name.
Mila Kunis set up monthly donations in Veep’s name. I’m contributing to National Right to Life in her name, sending memos to her. Who’s in??

There’s a healthy following in Kunis’ corner, too, however, including Planned Parenthood itself. The organization tweeted their thanks: “Looks like Mike Pence has been getting a thank you card from Planned Parenthood every month, thanks to Mila Kunis!”
