Per the newly released trailer, the movie is “about breaking free, and the time in all of our lives when you discover what you stand for.”
Demi Moore and Marlo Thomas co-star as Cyrus’ mother and grandmother, respectively.
Lionsgate has not yet set a U.S. release date for LOL though it is set to open in various European, South American and Asian territories this year. It picked up U.S. distribution rights for the pic from Mandate Pictures in Oct. 2010.
Lisa Azuelo wrote and directed the remake from her French original. The U.S. version is produced by Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher of Double Feature Films and Tish Cyrus.
Cyrus’ previous big screen credits include romance The Last Song and Hannah Montana: The Movie.
