Among them was A&E Networks’ President and CEO Nancy Dubuc, who said originality in programming was key to staying ahead.
“There’s still too much filler, copycat programming that’s out there. We work so hard to pioneer new ideas, and then those ideas are just regurgitated by other networks,” she told THR. “That’s not good for anybody I think. That’s not good for our business. That’s not good for our audience.”
Electus chairman and founder Ben Silverman revealed five advantages to working with digital content. Among them: Getting to partner with stars for unique projects. He touted a rap battle series inspired by Eminem as a project he particularly liked.
Michael Burns, vice chairman at Lionsgate Entertainment, told THR why cross-promotion was great for getting “butts in seats,” and how “ultimately consumers get what they want” in today’s digital climate.
