COLOGNE, Germany – Sons of Anarchy has torn up new ground in the German TV business with FX’s Golden Globe-winning biker series drawing more than a million VOD views on its premiere in the territory.
The pilot season one episode of Sons debuted Jan. 19 on VOD platform MyVideo. The show is streamed for free, with online advertising.
A new episode was put up every day and the entire first season is now available – in German and English – for MyVideo users.
The series is one of the first ever to debut on VOD in Germany before moving to free-to-air TV. MyVideo parent company, the broadcast giant ProSiebenSat.1, plans to put Sons of Anarchy on air later this year.
