The author under the pen name “Gossip Girl” called Kaling, who donned a bright look while attending The Mindy Project costume designer Salvador Perez‘s showcase at Neiman Marcus on Monday, “one of those ‘woman of the people’ types who basics find soooooo hilars.”
“Gossip Girl” continued to rip apart the outfit — which, true to Mindy’s colorful style, was quirky and bright — remarking, “Mindy made the woeful mistake of trying to blend about five different shades of rose, and SPOILER ALERT it’s not working.” She goes on, “Mindy, you’ve managed to turn my favorite color into a crime against fashion. For shame.”

After the site tweeted out the article (tagging Kaling in the process), the comedienne responded with the straight-foward and eloquent response we were all secretly thinking: “whoa, u guys are dicks.”

Several comments on the post spoke up in Kaling’s defense and called out the writer for criticizing her talent as an actress and comedy writer. “Well, call me ‘basic’, but I find her sooooo hilars. And sooooo capable of looking adorbz in anything. Sorry I’m not sorry,” said one commenter, ” ‘Scuze me while I go buy a latte.”
