Ahead of this year’s MIPCOM TV market, A+E has closed deals across Europe, Latin America and Asia for upcoming military action series Six.
The eight-part limited series created by Flags of Our Fathers screenwriter William Broyles Jr. and David Broyles, is inspired by the real missions of Navy SEAL Team Six, the special forces unit best known for killing Osama Bin Laden.
The series, produced by A+E Studios in association with The Weinstein Co., features Justified star Walton Goggins. Barry Sloane, Kyle Schmid, Juan Pablo Raba, Edwin Hodge, Brianne Davis, Nadine Velazquez and Dominic Adams co-star.
HBO picked up Six for its service in Spain, Scandinavia and Central and Eastern Europe, while online streaming group iFlix took rights in Southeast Asia. The History network, which is controlled by A+E Networks, picked up the show for its channels in Canada, Latin America and Southeast Asia.
Six will premiere on History in the U.S. next year.
Mipcom runs Oct. 17-20 in Cannes.
