Australian game show format Zombie Bootcamp has won the 2014 MIPFormats International Pitch competition, held Sunday in Cannes.
Pitched by Australian company The Feds, Zombie Bootcamp is a reality/game show in which two teams compete to see which would be best suited to survive the zombie apocalypse. The teams face a series of challenges to test their skills. The losing side must send three contestants out to face the zombies, only two of which will return. In the finale, two contestants will face a horde of 200 zombies, including their old team members.
The MIPFormat prize, sponsored by Warner Bros. International Television Production, comes with a $34,260 (€25,000) cash bursary earmarked for developing the format into a show.
