Former Miss Universe Alicia Machado proudly became a U.S. citizen just in time for the presidential election this year, and she plans to exercise her right to vote to go after an old enemy.
Machado and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump have a long-running feud. The 1996 Miss Universe winner almost lost her title when she gained 42 pounds after winning the crown. Trump, who formerly co-owned the Miss Universe Organization, called in a fitness expert to help Machado lose the weight through a rigorous diet and exercise program, all of which was documented by photographers and camera crews.
And the Venezuelan-born Machado claims Trump called her “Miss Piggy” and “Miss Housekeeping,” to mock her weight and her accent.
She recently posted a picture of herself on Instagram as she received her citizenship papers. She wrote she was “so proud” to be a U.S. citizen and said she plans on voting this year. “All my power and my support become with my next President @hillaryclinton,” she said. “Miss Housekeeping and Miss Piggy can vote @realdonaldtrump.”

Trump has admitted to pressuring Machado to lose weight and called her “an eating machine” on Howard Stern. Machado has been vocal about her depression and body image issues that she suffered from the experience and has called Trump “a detestable being.”
