On Sunday, Miss Rhode Island USA, Olivia Culpo, was crowned the new Miss USA, but another contestant claims that the pageant is fixed.
Miss Pennsylvania, Sheena Monnin, resigned her crown on Monday, just one day after the new Miss USA was crowned, claiming that the competition is rigged.

Monnin, 27, wrote on her Facebook to congratulate the winners of this year’s pageant, and then announced that she would be stepping down from her post.
“I have decided to resign my position as Miss Pennsylvania USA 2012,” she wrote. She added that she felt the Miss Universe Organization is “fraudulent, lacking in morals, inconsistent, and in many ways trashy.”
“In my heart I believe in honesty, fair play, a fair opportunity, and high moral integrity, none of which in my opinion are part of this pageant system any longer,” she added.
Monnin claims that the top five contestants were chosen before the competition had even started, and that one of the other women had seen a folder with a piece of paper listing the top five women hours before the pageant began.
On Wednesday, Donald Trump, who co-owns the Miss Universe Organization with NBCUniversal, made an appearance on The Today Show to announce that the Miss Universe Organization plans to sue Monnin for her claims.
“We’re going to be suing her now. She made a very false charge and she knows it’s a false charge,” Trump said, adding that her claims were “so ridiculous.”
