Former BuzzFeed writer Jack Moore‘s feed got him staffed on Fox’s upcoming Alexis Bledel/Jason Ritter sitcom Us & Them, about online romance.
Since its debut in December, his @seinfeldtoday — whose 617,000 followers include Jason Alexander — has become an industry favorite for its perfectly pitched contemporary loglines for the ’90s hit. (Samples: “Jerry discovers Newman is secretly an Internet-famous fan fiction writer. George gets aroused reading 50 Shades of Grey, questions self.” and “George is briefly implicated in the latest Anthony Weiner scandal because his OKCupid handle is Carlos Danger.”)
The atttention that the feed got the New York University grad Moore, also also an aspiring playwright and stand-up comedian, in Hollywood led to calls from managers and agents.
Moore signed with Jake Wagner at Benderspink and Erik Horine at ICM for management and representation.
The tweeting plus some scripts Moore had penned generated interest from shows, ultimately landing the rookie the spot on the US & Them staff.
Moore says @seinfeld today was “uniquely positioned” to help him. “I was basically pitching storylines, which is a huge part of being on a writing staff. Here’s 400 [of them] that illustrated a skill set.”
