Moonlight has been named best film of the year by Boston Online Film Critics Association.
The film — which earned six Golden Globe nominations Monday morning — also won best supporting actor honors for Mahershala Ali and best ensemble for the cast in weekend voting. The movie also was named best picture over the weekend by the African American Film Critics Association and by the San Francisco Film Critics Circle.
Meanwhile, Damien Chazelle was tapped as best director for La La Land. Best actor and actress honors went to Casey Affleck (Manchester by the Sea) and Isabelle Huppert (Elle), while Michelle Williams was named best supporting actress (Manchester by the Sea).
