Girl Code, developed by Ryan Ling, features various female comics offering wide-ranging advice on everything from frenemies, PDA, drinking, dating, dancing and more. The series drew an average of 1.1 million viewers each week in its first season, averaging a 1.2 rating among viewers 12-34. It is currently MTV’s reality series with the strongest social-media presence.
Ling serves as executive producer, while Darin Byrne and Paul Ricci are the executive producers for MTV. Laura Murphy directs.
Girl Code marks the first renewal at MTV under new programming chief Susanne Daniels. The series launched behind the cable network’s critical darling Awkward on Tuesdays as part of its female comedy lineup, marking a priority to lure the demo to the home of original fare, including Teen Wolf.
Girl Code currently airs on Tuesdays at 9:30 and 10:30 p.m.
