Demi Lovato performed “Cool for the Summer” during Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
The pop singer, bedecked in a purple sequined, cutout bodysuit, started her performance sitting on a beach chair under black-and-white-striped umbrellas before dancing across the stage with four backup dancers, all sporting bright, summery colors.
After Iggy Azalea joined Lovato onstage to sing, she jumped into a large inflatable pool and was carried atop the crowd as confetti and beach balls poured over the outdoor audience.
Miley Cyrus hosted the 2015 awards, with featured performances by Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, Tori Kelly, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Pharrell, Nicki Minaj and Twenty One Pilots with ASAP Rocky.
