Nick Jonas performed his new song “Levels” during the MTV Video Music Awards’ preshow Sunday night at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater.
The singer began his performance wearing an all-black outfit, complete with sunglasses. He walked and danced throughout the preshow area for fans and was accompanied by a group of female backup dancers donning astronaut-themed outfits.

After his performance, he was asked what keeps him going: “It’s the amazing fans.”
Jonas was up for best male video for “Chains.”
Miley Cyrus hosted the 2015 awards, with featured performances by Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, Tori Kelly, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Pharrell, Nicki Minaj and Twenty One Pilots with ASAP Rocky.
