MTV VMAs: The 5 Biggest Moments

Brooklyn was buzzing Sunday night with the MTV Video Music Awards broadcasting live from the Barclay’s Center.

Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus, Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis were just a few of the bold-faced names contributing to what would become a memorable night, featuring oversized teddy bears, grinding, a boy band reunion and a performance from the Brooklyn Bridge.

Timberlake took home the night’s top honor, Video of the Year, for “Mirrors,” while Macklemore & Ryan Lewis nabbed three Moonmen in total. Among them: Best Video With a Message for “Same Love,” which they went on to perform alongside Mary Lambert and Jennifer Hudson.

The singer then joined Robin Thicke for a duet of his hit “Blurred Lines.”

The rapper, who is usually known for creating controversy, went conservative with this year’s performance.

4. MTV VMAs: Lady Gaga Performs ‘Applause’ With Five Onstage Costume Changes

The superstar kickstarted the Sunday night awards show with a dramatic world premiere performance of her latest single.

5. MTV VMAs: Daft Punk Appears After Stephen Colbert Spoiler, But Doesn’t Perform

The French electro-pop duo appeared with “Get Lucky” collaborators Pharrell Williams and Niles Rodgers as presenters, not performers.
