AP Images/InvisionAlthough it wasn’t as on the nose as Katy Perry and Riff Raff’s impersonation of Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards, there was a celebrity couple on this year’s VMAs red carpet who gave us a bit of deja vu.

Pharrell Williams and his wife, Helen Lasichanh, both donned head-to-toe denim in a move that seemed inspired by the former pop power couple.

Williams wore a darker gray-blue denim jacket along with skinny jeans, a white tee and a black fisherman’s cap. His other half donned a classic blue denim shirt under distressed overalls and wore a hat as well. They even coordinated down to their boots, which had their only pop of color: red laces.
