Less than a week before Disney’s reboot of The Muppets hits theaters, a cover of Nirvana‘s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” has surfaced on the Internet.
The song was recorded by The Muppets Barbershop Quartet for the disc, set for release on Nov. 21. Details for The Muppets official soundtrack were announced in October.

The Nirvana cover isn’t the only well-known song the Muppets are covering. Cee Lo Green‘s “Forget You” will also be given the Muppet effect, while they will also provide their own version of “Rainbow Connection.”
Co-written by Segel and Nicholas Stoller, The Muppets centers on fan Walter, his brother Gary (Segel) and Gary’s girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams) who are on vacation in Los Angeles when they learn that Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) plans to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for oil. Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets for a telethon to raise $10 million to save the theater.
The Muppets hits theaters Nov. 23. Nirvana’s Nevermind album, on which “Teen Spirit” is featured, was reissued earlier this year.
