When Blake Mycoskie first launched his philanthropic-minded TOMS in 2006, he bestowed himself with the title of Chief Shoe Giver — a nod to the brand’s commitment to donating a pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair bought. Based on TOMS’ expanding “one for one” model, Mycoskie has since racked up a slew of additional accolades, including Chief Sight Giver through the company’s eyewear program, which donates a pair of prescription glasses or eye surgery for every pair of sunglasses purchased.

And thanks to TOMS’ latest endeavor, Mycoskie has earned his stripes as Chief Water Giver, too, thanks to the company’s new artisan coffee-roasting program, which results in a week’s worth of water for a family in a coffee-producing area for every bag sold. TOMS coffee is currently brewing at the brand’s flagship on Abbot Kinney in Venice, but keep an eye peeled for new coffee bars worldwide, including the newly debuted Amsterdam location and an Istanbul spot later in the summer.
Following on the heels of Mycoskie’s annual barefoot walk on Abbot Kinney last month — part of the brand’s One Day Without Shoes awareness campaign — the philanthropist spills the beans on his summer playlist.
