National Geographic Television has tapped a new evp programming and development. NGT president Brooke Runnette announced on Wednesday the addition of BBC Worldwide Productions’ Tim Pastore to the family of cable channels.
“Tim Pastore is a fantastically talented producer and I’m thrilled to have him on the team,” said Runnette. “Over the next few months, Tim and I will be building out the development and production teams both in D.C. and New York, and are looking forward to creating more hit series and specials for National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo WILD and our other partners. It’s an exciting time for us as we look forward to building on NGT’s fantastic legacy to make it an even more powerful media brand.”
Pastore’s addition comes on the heels of a year of big changes for Nat Geo. Runnette was only named president last November.
In his new job, Pastore will report directly to Runnette, working from the New York office and building the Nat Geo franchise’s roster of original programming. At BBC, where he served as vp factual production and programming, he worked to develop Nat Geo series Life Below Zero.
Pastore has also spent the summer overseeing the next season of Nat Geo hit Brain Games.
