LONDON — NBC Universal Global Networks Italia is the latest broadcaster to pick up Mr. Selfridge, the Jeremy Piven starrer, in a deal with ITV Studios Global Entertainment.
Piven stars in the show as the flamboyant and visionary American entrepreneur Harry Gordon Selfridge.
The latest deal means the show, produced by ITV Studios’ London-based drama team and created by writer Andrew Davies and co-written by Kate Brooke and Kate O’Riordan, has been sold to 99 countries worldwide.
The latest sales include a major pan-territory deal, which will see Mr. Selfridge air on BBC Entertainment across Africa.
NBC Universal Global Networks Italia acquired the show for its DIVA Universal channel and NPO in the Netherlands.
Tobias de Graaff, director of global television distribution at ITV Studios Global Entertainment, said: “With a second series now in production, I’m pleased to be working with more and more key broadcasters to market this beautifully produced drama to local audiences. Mr. Selfridge has already been a big hit with European and North American viewers and these latest deals extend the reach of Harry Selfridge’s charm to even more viewers worldwide.”
