Matthew Lewis’ transformation from the awkward and chubby (yet still lovable) Neville Longbottom into a certified “hot man” is no secret. The Harry Potter star’s evolution is so notable that “The Neville Effect” has become Internet slang for late bloomers.

Now 25, Lewis showed off his rockin’ bod in the June issue of Attitude magazine, sporting nothing but a soft green cardigan and a pair of tighty whities. Rightfully, the spread got quite a bit of Internet attention, including a reaction from unofficial Twitter queen J.K. Rowling. “Not as bad as watching Dan in Equus, but close. Warn me next time, for God’s sake,” tweeted the author, referencing Lewis’ Harry Potter co-star Daniel Radcliffe’s full-frontal appearance on Broadway.

Lewis tweeted, “Well, this is awkward. Sorry, Jo…” in response to Rowling’s shock, to which the author replied: “I will always support you whatever you want to do, Matthew. Now go put some clothes on.”

As if the adorable exchange wasn’t enough to make you fall for Lewis, the actor also told the mag of his newfound heartthrob status: “I’ve never considered myself to be good-looking at all. Just average.”
