After the success of the first two films, 20th Century Fox’s third installment in the Night at the Museum franchise follows a similar formula.
In the Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb trailer it is learned that the magical Egyptian tablet housed at New York’s American Museum of Natural History, which has been bringing the museum’s exhibits to life at night, has begun to corrode, putting the fate of the exhibits in jeopardy as a result.
Director Shawn Levy fills the cast of the threequel with big names like Ben Kingsley, Rebel Wilson, and Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens. Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, Steve Coogan, and Ricky Gervais all reprise their roles from Night at the Museum and Battle of the Smithsonian.
20th Century Fox will release the film on Dec. 19.
