New ‘Nightcrawler’ Trailer Puts Jake Gyllenhaal at the Scene of the Crime

In the latest look at Jake Gyllenhaal‘s Nightcrawler, now set to hit theaters on Oct. 31, the actor’s aspiring L.A. crime reporter takes matters into his own hands when he can’t get hired by a news outlet.

Nightcrawler, for which the actor lost a noticeable amount of weight (and some blood when he broke a mirror while filming a scene), co-stars Bill Paxton and was written and directed by Dan Gilroy. The Open Road film will get its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September.
