A Philadelphia TV news anchor is being criticized for trying to get her Twitter followers to watch the station’s coverage of a deadly shooting by comparing it to Breaking Bad.
On Sunday night, WTXF-TV news anchor Joyce Evans tweeted: “Thought ‘Breaking Bad’ was hot last Sunday? See who’s breaking bad in SW Philly, leavin’ 6 people SHOT — Tonite at Ten!”

Viewers immediately criticized Evans, with one person writing that it sounded “like it was written by a sociopath.”
Evans is a longtime anchor at the Fox affiliate. She later defended herself, responding that she was trying to compare the “very real life drama” of the shooting to the fictional show about a chemistry teacher turned methamphetamine dealer.
She wrote: “Last tweet NOT AST ALL A JOKE. Very real life drama was the point as oppose to one that end on tv. That was my point.”
