And meatball makes three: There’s a new baby guido in the Jersey Shore house.
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, who shot to notoriety for her wild antics on MTV’s reality show Jersey Shore, gave birth early Sunday morning to Lorenzo Dominic LaValle, her first child, with fiance Jionni LaValle. Their son, already with a nickname of his own–“Enzo”–was born weighing 6 lbs, 5 oz., according to MTV.
Snooki tweeted early this morning to share the news with her 5.5 million followers:
I am SO IN LOVE with my son Lorenzo Dominic ! I had my little man last night, healthy at 6lbs! HE’S MY WORLD! ?

MTV shared in Snooki’s excitement: “We couldn’t be happier for Nicole and Jionni on the healthy delivery of their baby boy! We look forward to Lorenzo’s first trip to the Jersey Shore and can’t wait to see his first animal print onesie.”
Jionni also tweeted the news to share his excitement at becoming a dad:
ill never forget old high school memories or the vacations I been on with my boys, I will also never forget 8/26/12 the day my son was born!
— Jionni LaValle (@JLaValle) August 26, 2012
Snooki tweeted again afterward:
Being a mom is an amazing feeling!!! I love my little man to death! Jionni is such a cute dad.

The 24-year-old pint-sized reality star gained such a huge following on Jersey Shore that MTV premiered a spinoff show this summer with another castmate, Jenni Farley, Snooki & JWoww. The two moved from the crowded Seaside Heights shore house to a loft in Manchester, NJ. The show debuted in June to only 2.4 million viewers–disappointing compared to the show’s second spinoff, The Pauly D Project, which collected 2.9 million viewers when it premiered in March, and the fifth season of Jersey Shore, which premiered in January with 7.6 million viewers.
Regardless of Snooki & JWoww‘s less-than-hoped-for ratings and critics calling the show “boring” compared to the crazy and unpredictable antics of the Shore house, MTV announced at the beginning of this month that it had renewed the show for a second season.
But don’t expect to see the birth on Snooki & JWoww; fans will instead have to tune in to the sixth season of Jersey Shore, premiering Thursday, October 4, at 10 p.m. While the majority of Snooki’s pregnancy was followed on her spinoff with JWoww, JS camera crews were spotted at the hospital she gave birth at, St. Barnabas Medical Center, in Livingston, NJ.
According to MTV, the reality show will feature the last few months of her pregnancy. But while the usually hard-partying guidette hung out with her former roommates during the day, she abstained from the late-night antics and went back to her own place every night. “[It used to be] Nicole partying, partying, partying, but now she lived next door, so it was different,” Pauly D told MTV. “Well, she had this porch, and then me and Vinny would kick down Snooki’s porch [door] every day. We loved that porch. I was there more than my own house.”
