Leading entertainment and market research firm National Research Group has named Ben Rogers president of platform and technology clients.
NRG says it is experiencing significant growth among its technology clients. The L.A.-based firm is best known for working closely with Hollywood movie studios and other film companies in testing marketing materials and providing other critical feedback in the weeks and months leading up to a movie’s release, including projecting the opening-weekend performance.
Rogers will advise technology clients on marketing, innovation, brand and positioning strategy, platform optimization and performance tracking.
“I’m excited to build upon NRG’s core expertise as trusted advisers to build storytellers everywhere on every screen,” says Rogers, noting that the company’s expansion is a natural step given the confluence of technology and content.
Added NRG CEO Jon Penn, “He is the ideal person to take our rapidly expanding platform and service business to great new heights.”
NRG did not disclose who its technology clients are, including whether Netflix graces that list.
Rogers, a Silicon Valley veteran, will be based out of San Francisco. He previously served as exec vp media development at Ipsos. He began his career at NPP, and later lead various teams on technology accounts at Kantar. Rogers also spent a decade at Synovate.
