Latin spirit oozed on the Winter Olympics ice Sunday night, though one duo took a sharp turn, spinning classics by The Rolling Stones, the Eagles and Carlos Santana.
Canada’s popular pair Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir had a hit on their hands with a routine that opened with The Rolling Stones’ “Sympathy for the Devil” and segued into an acoustic version of the Eagles’ “Hotel California” and then Santana’s “Oye Como Va.”
Their spicy performance propelled them to a score of 83.67, breaking the world record they set themselves. Make no mistake: Virtue and Moir are the team to beat.

Ice-dancing competitors were encouraged to incorporate a Latin rhythm into their short routines, and many did just that, as skaters danced to “Despacito” on three different occasions.
Perhaps the French team of Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron didn’t get the memo, though, as they came out to a soundtrack of Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” and “Thinking Out Loud.”
