Fans of Janet Evanovich‘s popular mystery-romance series are one step closer to seeing the beloved character Stephanie Plum brought to life, as Lionsgate releases the first official trailer for the big screen adaptation.

Katherine Heigl stars as Plum, an accidental bond-enforcement agent . Jason O’Mara (Terra Nova) plays her love interest Joe Morelli, while Daniel Sunjata (Rescue Me) plays her other love interest Ranger. Plum’s kooky grandmother, Grandma Mazur, is brought to life by Debbie Reynolds.
STORY: Lionsgate Picks Up U.S. Rights to Katherine Heigl Comedy ‘The Big Wedding’
Julie Anne Robinson directs the film, which is being produced by Lionsgate and Lakeshore Entertainment. The screenplay was written by Stacy Sherman, Karen Ray and Liz Brixius.
We see a new side of Heigl in the 2:30 trailer, as the Grey’s Anatomy actress puts on her best Jersey accent and wields a gun for the butt-kicking role. One For The Money hits theaters Jan. 27, 2012.
