The new run debuts Aug. 8 with a multi-episode chapter, Origins of a Champion: Nick Saban and Alabama’s Crimson Tide, a deep dive into the college football dynasty that includes interviews with Saban; his wife, Terry; former assistant Lane Kiffin; and others.
A behind-the-scenes look at preparations for SNL’s 44th season will debut Sept. 12 and include interviews with key castmembers and crew, including producer Lorne Michaels.

“We see Origins as a big buffet table of our culture, with particular emphasis on television, sports, movies, music and other elements I’ve reported on or simply love,” said Miller in a statement. “These three upcoming chapters of Origins reflect our commitment to entertain listeners and provide new insights from the most essential individuals involved.”
Origins is made in partnership with podcast producer Cadence 13, which also produces shows with everyone from Tony Kornheiser to Gwyneth Paltrow. About Origins, Chris Corcoran, Cadence 13’s chief content officer, said in the statement, “Following the enthusiastic response to the first two chapters of Origins on Curb Your Enthusiasm and ESPN, we’re very excited to take this series to the next level with three strong and surprising new stories. Origins has been a perfect programming model for an audience that loves to learn and be entertained at the same time.”
