Amid all the hype from the summer’s highly anticipated fanboy blockbusters – Prometheus, The Dark Knight Rises, The Amazing Spider-Man – those looking for a romantic, coming-of-age drama will be awaiting the fall release of The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
The Summit Film, directed by Stephen Chobosky, has maintained a relatively low profile until recently, when the studio debuted the first official one-sheet. MTV also revealed the first footage of the forthcoming trailer, which is set to premiere during the MTV Movie Awards pre-show with a special introduction from actress Nina Dobrev. Watch below for a sneak peek.
Based on the 1999 epistolary novel, penned by Chobosky and published by MTV, the film stars Logan Lerman as Charlie, an introverted freshman, who learns the ropes from two seniors played by Emma Watson and Ezra Miller. Paul Rudd, Mae Whitman, Melanie Lynskey, Kate Walsh and Dylan McDermott also star.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower is set for a September 14 release. The one-sheet below features the three main characters against a brick wall, painted green, and the tagline “we are infinite.”
