Despite being convicted of murder in the second degree for the 2003 shooting of actress Lana Clarkson by two separate juries, Phil Spector isn’t giving up.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s appeal was heard by the California Courts of Appeals April 12 Spinner reports. He was convicted in April 2009 by a Los Angeles Superior Court jury and received a sentence of 19 years to life.
Spector’s attorneys argued that both of the music man’s previous trials were unjustly influenced by testimonies from five women who have claimed to be victims of gun-related violence involving the producer. The Court’s ruling on the merit’s of a third appeal could take up to 90 days.
