Primary Wave Entertainment co-CEO David Guillod has resigned from the company following sexual assault allegations.
“Primary Wave Entertainment and David Guillod have agreed to part ways effective immediately, David Guillod has resigned from the company,” the company said Saturday in a statement.
The decision comes two days after Ted actress Jessica Barth accused the manager-producer of drugging her at a dinner in 2012 and then sexually assaulting her. The actress said she took the incident to the LAPD but was threatened with a lawsuit by Guillod. Barth’s accusations were first reported by The Wrap.
A source familiar with the Primary Wave leadership said that the executive team was unaware of any complaints against Guillod until reports surfaced in the media earlier this week.
On Friday, Primary Wave announced Guillod would be taking a “leave of absence” in the wake of Barth’s claims.
“Following recently reported accusations, David Guillod is taking a leave of absence from Primary Wave Entertainment, effective immediately, in order for this matter to be thoroughly investigated,” the company’s statement read at the time. “We take any accusations of sexual misconduct very seriously. Our company’s greatest strength is our culture of respect, and we have a zero-tolerance policy toward harassment or abuse of any kind.”
Guillod, whose clients included Gina Rodriguez, Paula Patton and Meagan Good, joined Primary Wave in 2015.
