The cast of ABC’s Private Practice is jumping on the reunion bandwagon with a virtual event in support of Women for Biden’s Get Out the Vote campaign.
Airing on Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, the reunion brings together series stars Amy Brenneman, Paul Adelstein, KaDee Strickland, Caterina Scorsone, Kate Walsh, Brian Benben, and Chris Lowel. As well as discussing Private Practice, which ended its run in 2013, the cast will focus on the importance of voting, how to make a plan to vote, and how to encourage others to make a plan to vote and also discuss how healthcare is a hot button issue in the upcoming election.
Cast reunions of popular television shows and cult films have proved an effective fundraising tool for the Biden campaign this election season. This coming Sunday, the Happy Days cast are coming together to raise funds for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin — the home state of the iconic sitcom. Henry Winkler’s Fonzie will reunite with Ron Howard (Richie Cunningham), Don Most (Ralph Malph), Anson Williams (Potsie Weber), Marion Ross (Marion Cunningham), as well as writer Lowell Ganz plus a few special guests, the event will be available for a minimum donation of $1, with all proceeds aiding Biden’s campaign in the key battleground state.
In the past month, there has been a reunion of the cast of HBO’s political comedy Veep, which raised well over $500,000 and counting, an original cast reunion of Hamilton for a town hall event, a Star Trek-themed fundraiser, “Trek the Vote to Victory,” with a variety of cast members from the series’ long history, a cast reunion of the cult film the Princess Bride that raised $4.25 million for Wisconsin Dems and a similar event for Pennsylvania Dems by the cast of This Is Spinal Tap.
There was also a well-received virtual cast reunion for Richard Linklater’s cult film Dazed and Confused to benefit March For Science and Voto Latino Foundation to encourage voter participation in Texas.
