Organizers call Creamfields “the world’s leading dance music festival.”
In their only summer festival appearance in Britain, The Prodigy, which also was one of the top acts in 2006, will headline the event’s Saturday night slot on one of its two main stages. Avicii is set to take over the other stage. Tiesto and Guetta will headline the Sunday night lineup.
Other DJs and acts announced for Creamfields on Wednesday include Groove Armada, Richie Hawtin, Paul Oakenfold, Pete Tong, Afrojack, Ferry Corsten, Benny Benassi, Sasha, who will be a “special guest” on one of the stages, and Baauer, known for producing “Harlem Shake.”
BBC radio DJ Zane Lowe, Above & Beyond, Steve Angello, Eric Prydz, Marco Carola, Adam Beyer, Solomun, Joris Voorn, Hernan Cattaneo, Paul van Dyk, Loco Dice, Seth Troxler, Laidback Luke and Eddie Halliwell are also set for the festival.
Creamfields, which started as an offshoot from Liverpool’s Cream nightclub, is set to take place in Daresbury Aug. 23–25.
Organizers previously said that they had spent $ (£500,000) on festival site improvements after the event had to be shut down early last year amid heavy flooding. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/creamfields-sunday-cancelled-rain-tiesto-deadmau5-382920
Deadmau5, Tiesto, Hawtin, van Dyk, James Zabiela, Cattaneo and Groove Armada were among the big acts that couldn’t play the festival’s final day last year due to the bad weather.
Creamfields festivals have also been held in such locations as Abu Dhabi, Buenos Aires, Istanbul, Mexico City, Moscow, Prague and Rio de Janeiro, among others.
