Film producer John Lesher, head of Grisbi Productions, and his wife Christina Liao have listed their Santa Barbara estate for $12.9 million.
“It’s 160 acres that backs up to 2,800 acres of open space, that also backs up to thousands and thousands of acres of the Los Padres National Forest,” listing agent Suzanne Perkins tells The Hollywood Reporter. (The listing was shared with fellow Sotheby’s International Realty agent Ronald Brand, and Billy Rose of The Agency.)
According to The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the listing, Lesher, the former head of Paramount Film Group, and Liao purchased the parcel of land in 2002 with the intent of commissioning a weekend home by longtime friend and noted Los Angeles commercial and residential architect Barbara Bestor.
Completed in 2010, the main home is a centered loft-like open custom cook’s kitchen with European-style cabinetry, and also features a media room, a yoga room that opens onto a private garden, and a separate guesthouse that can accommodate up to four people.
Additional highlights include the living room’s custom telescoping glass walls that look onto the Santa Barbara coastline and surrounding forest, as well as an infinity pool with sweeping vistas.
“You have unbelievable 360-degree views, and you don’t have to worry about one person looking in on you,” added Perkins.
