Queen Elizabeth II is celebrating 2014 with a nod to Celine’s creative director, Phoebe Philo, in her New Year Honors list.
Philo, who joined the Paris-based Celine in 2008, was named an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her contributions to the fashion industry, according to Women’s Wear Daily. She previously served as the creative director of Chloe from 2001 to 2006.

The Queen also named influential British makeup artist Pat McGrath as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her service to the fashion and beauty industry. McGrath has worked with designers Giorgio Armani and Dolce & Gabbana as well as photographers Steven Meisel and Helmut Newton.
Philo and McGrath join the ranks of fellow fashion friends who’ve received awards in the past, including designer Stella McCartney, who was named 2013’s OBE, and Alexander McQueen‘s creative director, Sarah Burton, who was announced as 2012’s OBE for her designs of Kate Middleton‘s stunning wedding dress.
