Ray De La Garza, formerly VP of Programming at Radio Disney, has been appointed the new General Manager of RedOne’s 2101 Records.
Producer/songwriter RedOne founded 2101 Records, a joint venture with Universal Music International, in 2010. The label, which has a partnership with Cash Money, has had success with DJ Havana Brown whose remix of “We Run the Night” featuring Pitbull reached No. 1 on the Hot Dance/Club Songs chart and No. 26 on the Hot 100 last summer.

“I am thrilled to have someone of Ray’s caliber and experience join my label,” said RedOne in announcing De La Garza’s hiring. “We have some incredible new artists launching this year and I know that Ray will be a great asset helping us develop and build their careers.”
Swedish/Congolese R&B singer Mohombi, whose debut single “Bumpy Ride” was a top-ten hit in many European countries, will release his sophomore album on 2101/Cash Money soon. Between developing Mohombi stateside and working with some of 2101/Cash Money’s other artists, De La Garza will have his hands full.
