In the wake of Saturday’s fatal stage collapse ahead of a Radiohead show at Toronto’s Downsview Park, the band has announced the cancellation of seven dates from the European leg of their current tour.
Radiohead released a statement Thursday afternoon, citing technical setbacks as the postponements.
“The collapse also destroyed the light show — this show was unique and will take many weeks to replace,” said the band. “The collapse also caused serious damage to our backline, some elements of which are decades old and therefore hard to replace.”
The incident, which injured three crew members and killed drum technician Scott Johnson, also prompted the immediate cancellation of the Toronto show.
Radiohead will resume live performances on July 10 with its run of shows at France’s Les Arenes Nimes, followed by dates at the Bilbao BBK festival and Lisbon Optimus Alive festival.
Refunds will be offered for the canceled dates, but the band says rescheduled shows will be announced June 27 for those who can still attend. Read the full list of dates affected below:
