Rob Lowe knows what people think of his face because instead of saying it behind his back, they just go straight to the source. “Guys who are my age look to me and say, ‘Dude! What the heck? You look like you are still on St. Elmo’s Fire,” says the 51-year-old actor (his birthday is March 17), recalling a film that is now more than 30 years old. “I can say, well, this is what I know, this is what I’ve learned, these are my tricks of the trade.”
Standing on the terrace of Montage Beverly Hills’ private Whiskey Bar Ten Pound, the star of Fox’s The Grinder then points to a perfectly positioned selection of products from Profile, his Nordstrom-exclusive line of men’s grooming products that has just expanded to include its first cologne, 18 Amber Wood. It smells just as good as he looks and even better, after the 10-minute product presentation for a small press audience, Lowe is game to play along with a rapid fire round of Rambling Reporter’s random interrogation.
