Rami Malek will lend his voice to a new thriller podcast from Endeavor Audio.
The Mr. Robot actor will star in and produce Blackout, an eight-episode suspense story about a small-town radio DJ who must fight to protect his family and community from a coordinated attack that destroys the power grid and upends modern civilization.
Blackout comes from creator and producer Scott Conroy, whose feature script Analytica was named to the 2018 Black List.
QCODE, the new podcast banner of Rob Herting, Brian Kavanaugh Jones, Fred Berger and David Henning, is producing in partnership with Endeavor Audio, which launched in September to work with partners like Dick Wolf and Mass Appeal to finance, develop, produce and distribute podcasts.
Malek, who is repped by WME, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, Daylight Media and Sloane Offer, is fresh off his performance as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, for which he earned a Golden Globe nomination. He will reprise his role as Elliot Anderson in the fourth and final season of Mr. Robot in 2019.
Endeavor Audio, led by Moses Soyoola, recently released the second season of scripted thriller Limetown and also is working with Law & Order creator Wolf on a podcast series.
