Getty ImagesRandall Park and Veep‘s Timothy Simons have signed on to join Seth Rogen and James Franco in the Sony comedy The Interview.
The film revolves around a handsome talk show host (Franco) and his producer (Rogen) who find themselves in way over their heads when they get involved in a plot to assassinate the prime minister of North Korea (Park). Lizzy Caplan already boarded the project, which begins shooting in Vancouver later this week.

Simons, best known for playing White House liaison Jonah Ryan on the HBO comedy, will play the director of the talk show.
Rogen and Evan Goldberg are directing The Interview, which marks their follow-up to Sony’s hit horror-comedy mash-up This Is the End. The pair also are producing with their Grey Point Pictures colleague James Weaver. Dan Sterling wrote the screenplay.
Park recently appeared in The Five-Year Engagement and plays a supporting role in the Rogen-toplined comedy Neighbors.

Simons broke onto the scene two years ago with Veep, which marked his first acting credit. The Interview casting follows a busy summer for the actor, who shot major roles in Paul Thomas Anderson‘s Inherent Vice, Ivan Reitman‘s Draft Day and the indie comedy Flock of Dudes.
