Disney Animation’s Raya and the Last Dragon hit Super Bowl Sunday.
The Southeast Asia-inspired film follows Raya (Kelly Marie Tran) and the dragon Sisu (Awkwafina) and is directed by Big Hero 6‘s Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada, based on a screenplay by Crazy Rich Asians scribe Adele Lim.
The film tells the story of Raya, a lone warrior who must track down the last dragon in order to restore peace to her land, which 500 years earlier has once seen humans and dragons living side by side before an evil struck.
Like Mulan before it, Raya and the Last Dragon will be available on Disney+ for an additional fee via the streaming service’s Premier Access tier. It will also be available simultaneously in theaters.
Raya and the Last Dragon is due out March 5.
