Just one day after Cindy Barshop told THR that she was in limbo regarding whether she’ll appear next season on The Real Housewives of New York City, Bravo officially informed the reality star on Saturday afternoon that she won’t be returning for Season 5.
“Bravo and I parted amicably and I will not be returning for the show,” Barshop tells The Hollywood Reporter. “And I’m absolutely thrilled with the opportunity, really am thrilled. And for me, it’s a great decision personally and for my business. It’s going to be an amazing year next year.”
Barshop, who joined the series last season, is the mother of twin girls. Her chain of hair removal spas, Completely Bare, has six locations in New York, as well as locations in Los Angeles, Dallas, and Atlanta. She also works with several children’s charities, including Project 360 and The Starlight Foundation.

“I’m a hundred percent good with this decision,” she tells us. “Everyone knows the Completely Bare spas nationally now. And the opportunities to work with different charities that have come through the show are something I really value. And I will continue to work hard for those charities going forward.”

Sources close to the production have told THR that Sonja Morgan, LuAnn DeLesseps, and Ramona Singer have received offers to return for next season and are currently in negotiations on those offers. Now that Barshop has been informed she’s not returning, the remaining housewives Alex McCord, Jill Zarin, and Kelly Killoren Bensimon are awaiting word from Bravo regarding whether they will be invited back. Additionally, three new housewives are waiting in the wings to possibly fill any open spots.
