Luann de Lesseps has checked back in to rehab, Bravo confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter on Monday. As a result, the Real Housewives of New York City star will not be able to participate in the reality series’ season 10 reunion, which films on Tuesday.
“Bravo supports Luann’s decision to focus on her health. She is part of the Bravo family and we continue to stand by her as she copes with this challenging situation,” a network spokeswoman said in a statement. “At this time, we hope everyone will respect her privacy.”
On Monday, de Lesseps’ friend and RHONY co-star Bethenny Frankel spoke out about the “Money Can’t Buy You Class” singer and former Countess’ decision to undergo a second round of treatment.
“This weekend, Luann was surrounded by her girlfriends and decided — with their support — that in light of recent circumstances, it is the healthiest choice for her not to attend Tuesday’s reunion taping so that she can continue in her healing process,” Frankel told People. “Luann is now surrounded by a core group of people who truly have her best interests at heart and who are working to make sure she gets the help she needs.”
Frankel also said that de Lesseps is hoping to get better so she can continue to perform in her cabaret show, #CountessAndFriends, at New York’s Feinstein’s 54/Below. “Luann loves doing the cabaret,” Frankel added. “She’s taking the necessary steps to get better so that the show can go on.”
De Lesseps’ rehab news comes days after it was reported that her first husband, Count Alexandre de Lesseps, her daughter, Victoria de Lesseps, and son, Noel de Lesseps, filed a lawsuit against the reality star over an $8 million house sale. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Luann de Lesseps breached a stipulation of settlement in her divorce by not creating a trust “for the benefit of her two children.”
De Lesseps first entered rehab in late December, after she was arrested in Palm Beach, Florida. She was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest with violence, disorderly intoxication and corruption by threat.
At the time, de Lesseps said that she hadn’t been back to the tony enclave since her 2016 wedding to now-ex-husband Tom D’Agostino, which she claimed caused her to act out. “Being here brought up buried emotions,” she tweeted. “I am committed to a transformative and hopeful 2018.”
Bravo’s cameras were rolling before and after de Lesseps’ arrest, and the current season has featured the star opening up about the incident and her subsequent dedication to sobriety. De Lesseps has appeared on the Andy Cohen-produced series since its debut in 2008.
