Rebel Wilson has revealed that her Dirty Rotten Scoundrels remake with Anne Hathaway will be called The Hustle.
The MGM film’s release date has also been moved up from its Aug. 10 bow to June 29.
Wilson revealed the news in a tweet Wednesday morning accompanying a photo of her and Hathaway embracing and smiling.
“Get ready for this beaut,” she wrote. “The CON is ON.”
The Hustle — a remake of 1988’s Dirty Rotten Scoundrels starring Steve Martin, Michael Caine and Glenne Headly — was originally given the title Nasty Women, when it was announced a little over a year ago, shortly after the 2016 presidential election, in which the phrase, a take on a dismissive term given by President Trump to his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton, became a rallying cry for women.
In the remake, Wilson and Hathaway play women from different walks of life teaming up to con a tech billionaire (Alex Sharp) in his early 20s. The original film featured Martin and Caine, one unsophisticated and the other suave, scamming their way across the French Riviera. The late Headly played the target of their scam.
Veep director Chris Addison directed The Hustle from a script by Jac Schaeffer, with Wilson producing alongside Roger Birnbaum, under his Pin High Productions banner.
