Hollywood can breathe a sigh of relief: Red-carpet prankster Vitalii Sediuk, whose ambush of Brad Pitt at the May 28 Maleficent premiere landed him in jail, tells The Hollywood Reporter that he’s done with pranks forever and is leaving Los Angeles to pursue a modeling career in London.
What’s more, the 25-year-old Ukrainian feels he came off as “egoistic” in a recent interview with THR and wants to apologize to any celebrities he may have accosted in the past.
“Basically, I’m changing my life,” Sediuk says.

He continues: “I would like to thank Hollywood for having me this two years and a half. It was an experience that taught me a lot in life. Most importantly, I would like to say sorry for celebrities that had to deal with my stunts and thank them for being tolerant to me all this time.”
But Sediuk maintains that his headline-grabbing antics, in which he’d run up to stars at high-profile events and proceed to kiss them (Will Smith), accept awards on their behalf (Adele), drop to his knees in front of them (Bradley Cooper, Leonardo DiCaprio) or leap beneath their dresses (America Ferrera, whom he mistook for Cate Blanchett), were always meant to be in good fun.
“The motivation behind all my pranks was always positive even when some of them went wrong and were not understood by the public,” he says. “I came to the decision to move overseas, but there’s some part of me that will stay in this city. I know you will not miss me.”

Sediuk’s last stunt, in which he accosted Pitt with an attempted embrace outside the El Capitan theater on Hollywood Blvd., resulted in a bodyguard pile-up and two nights in jail for the former reporter with Ukraine’s 1+1 TV.
A Los Angeles judge later sentenced him to 20 days of community service and ordered him to stay 500 yards away from all award shows, entertainment events and red carpets. Pitt and partner Angelina Jolie also issued a restraining order against him.
Sediuk closes out his farewell message with an emoticon of a winking smiley face and a hashtag.
“#WillMissLosAngeles.”
